On the weekend of the 3rd & 4th of December members from the Senior Class in Togher Taekwon-Do travelled to Tralee to part-take in the ITA Winter Black-Belt Grading.
On Saturday December 3rd, candidates from across the country gathered for testing for promotion from I Degree to II Degree, with one candidate presenting for promotion
from to V Degree. Sunday December 4th saw candidates presenting for promotion from 1st Kup to I Degree.

Over the course of the weekend, candidates were rigorously tested across all disciplines in Taekwon-Do. Both days began with the examination of traditional floor
movements and kicking techniques, followed by performance of four patterns. This was followed by 1, 2, and 3 step sparring routines and free sparring.
Candidates then demonstrated their self-defence skills for numerous attacking techniques designated by the grading panel. On both days, the gradings were brought
to a close with special techniques and power breaking. Mr Stephen Ryan V Dan tested candidates’ theory knowledge over the course of both days.

Commiserations to Miss Olwen Lewis who presented for grading on Saturday December 3rd. On this occasion Miss Lewis was unsuccessful but will be eligible to
retry in June 2012.

Congratulations to all four members of Togher Taekwon-Do who presented for the Black Belt Grading on Sunday December 4th and were promoted to I Degree:

There will be no training this Wed 14th in Togher as the school need to use the hall.

We would like to wish the following the very best of luck in the upcoming Black Belt Grading which is taking place this weekend in Tralee

Dr Olwen Lewis who is going for 2nd Degree, Evan Hull, Leah O Sullivan, Kim Madden & Danielle Murphy O Riordan who are looking for that coveted Black Belt.

We would also like to extend best wishes to our good friend Mr Peter Crosbie of Cellbridge Taekwon-Do who is testing for 5th Degree.

Mr Crosbie will be heading to Australia before Christmas on a permanent basis with his family and we would like to wish him the very best of luck.
